How do I adjust my volume and make sure it's not muted?

The easiest way to check your volume settings is by opening up the Windows Volume Control Panel. Some of the windows and options may differ depending on your sound card and audio software. If you need further assistance, please check the available support from your computer's or sound card's manufacturer.

First make sure the volume control icon is available in the taskbar.

To make this icon available:

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  2. Open Multimedia.
  3. Make sure you are on the Audio tab.
  4. Enable the "Show volume control on the taskbar" checkbox.

  5. Click Apply then OK.

Now your volume control icon should be visible. To adjust your settings:

  1. Right click the volume control icon and click Open Volume Controls

  2. Set the Volume Control Volume to around 75%.

  3. Verify that the Mute all check box is unchecked.
  4. Check your Synthesizer channel and make sure its Volume is up around 75-80%.
  5. Make sure the Synthesizer Mute checkbox is not checked.
  6. If you have a MIDI channel set its Volume to around 75-80%.
  7. If you have a MIDI channel make sure its Mute checkbox is unchecked.
